Dupont Circle

The Dupont Circle Citizens’ Association (The DCCA) had a Microsoft Office based member management system that was causing more headaches than it was solving.

Recognizing that building a custom web application didn’t make budget sense for a non-profit member run organization like the DCCA, we recommended customizing an open source software for DCCA's needs.

We then migrated their current membership information into the new web-based system and integrated the system with their existing website.

Now their members can not only make payments on line but also create and update their contact information.

The DCCA now has a smooth and fully automated approach to accepting new memberships, managing membership information, and membership communications.

The next step is to tie in a simple web site updating tool to the Benton Consulting built system. Then non-technical volunteers can update the web site.

College Hoops Gazette

Benton Consulting helped The Gazette team define their needs in terms of a Web site plan.

We researched the Web for the best “blogging” software options, selected the most appropriate one by matching it to their needs, and then extended and customized the software for an exact fit.

American University

A group of marketing professors from The Kogod School of Business at American University experienced frustration in trying to find existing software to allow them to study user behavior in a unique way.

Benton Consulting researched the issue and then demonstrated how the professors could perform “experiments” utilizing the Web. We then designed and developed a web-based experiment management system. This solution allows professors to not only run their experiments, but empowers them to create, manage, and modify infinite experiments.

The software is not publicly available to view.

I Live Inspired

This high-tech startup had a draft business plan and needed to navigate numerous business and technical challenges since nothing like it existed in the market.

Benton Consulting jumped on board in the early stages of the firm’s development. We gathered and consolidated market research to guide their business model and technology partnership decisions. We also provided structure and organization to their ideas using technology to sort information that resulted in a strategic technology plan.

We executed their plan by developing a web application for their subscribers and creating a unique distribution engine for delivering their daily text messages to customers.

And finally, we surrounded the entire concept with administrative and analytical tools to enable Live Inspired to accurately monitor their evolution.

The PerCon Group

This nearly 30 year old consulting company had been conducting surveys of the quality of manager/subordinate communications for decades using “stone-age technology” (company president’s words)

Benton Consulting was asked to create methods using advanced technology to gather, sort, report and store information from multiple locations around the country…and make it so easy a “chimpanzee could run the software” (company president’s words). We created software that permits both pencil and paper replies as well as electronic input to a website collecting point. They are “happy as a hog in slop” (company president’s words).

KC Soccerdome

Three years ago, “The Dome” (a soccer “institution” in Kansas City for over 20 years) had no Web site - nor an efficient process for tracking, calculating, and distributing league statistics and schedules.

Benton Consulting stepped in and designed a graphically powerful web presence and arranged for all of their hosting and email needs to start. Then we developed an automated standings and statistics tracker.

In addition to fulfilling immediate needs, we have guided their Web site and systems needs to accommodate business expansion and partnerships.

The Dome went from “nothing doin” to authoritatively “finding the back of the net” in less than 2 months.

World Bank

The World Bank needs help with a technology plan for a thematic knowledge sharing platform.

First, The Bank and Benton Consulting are working together to identify stakeholders, knowledge bodies, knowledge sharing processes, and the key needs to be satisfied by the technology.

We will then define the requirements for the knowledge sharing platform, evaluate alternative technologies, and make a recommendation of the best fit.

Finally, we will produce a strategic execution plan for the implementation and hosting of the platform.
